Terms and conditions

Hamrar, útilífsmiðstöð skáta Akureyri (430698-3469) manages the campsite at Hamrar on behalf of the municipality of Akureyri and is responsible for the services provided here.

With the booking, the customer confirms that the number of guests and their ages on the booking is correct and according to the rules of the campsite. According to our rules all guest must be over 18 or accompanied by their legal guardians.

Guests must bring a printed receipt or a digital copy on a mobile device to present the receipt to the campsite staff on request.

Customers are allowed to cancel their reservation up until 24 hours before the scheduled booking time and will get a full refund excluding a 500 ISK cancellation fee.

In the case of a shortened stay, a 50% refund is issued for the time remaining on the booking. If the stay is shortened after the local check-in time begins, one night is subtracted from the total refund.

If a refund of accommodation fees is requested, it must be done by sending an email to the address refund@hamrar.is with information about the booking, booking number and time of departure from the area. The receipts/stickers that the guest may have received must be handed over to the camp guards to prove the duration of their stay.

Guests may start setting up camp after 4:00 PM. If the situation allows, the operator may authorize setting up camp earlier.

Guests must leave the campsite before 4:00 PM. If the situation allows, the operator may authorize delayed check-outs.

It is strictly forbidden to resell campsite reservations.

Guests must follow the rules of the campsite and deviations from them may lead to expulsion from the area. No refunds will be made for the shortened stay if violations of the rules cause the period of stay to be shortened. The maximum length of continuous stay is 14 nights.

In accordance with Icelandic law nr. 85/2007, we are required to get the nationality of our guests. Other information from the booking (name, phone number and email) are strictly for booking references and for us to send the buyer information about the visit and will never be handed over or sold out to a third party.

All prices include VAT.

These terms and conditions and the provision of our services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Icelandic law. If any provision of these terms and conditions is or becomes invalid, unenforceable or non-binding, all other provisions remain valid. Any dispute arising out of these general terms and conditions and our services shall exclusively be submitted to the competent courts in Iceland.
